The brief was to create a comfortable, colourful home to accommodate a variety of eclectic furnishings and artwork. The style was traditional with a modern twist and incorporating lots of different natural textures. A broad palette of Autumnal tones was a deliberate move away from the more obvious blues and greys often used for the interiors of coastal properties. A mixture of sheer rollers and wooden blinds provide privacy to windows fronting the village lane and in bathroom areas, whilst interlined curtains with detailed finishing touches have brought a sense of luxury to the pretty period windows. Existing pieces of furniture were re-upholstered to add colour and interest and carried the theme of colour and texture through the cottage.
